WHAT
IS A CARBON AIR FILTER?
A carbon air filter
is a housing that contains a quantity of activated carbon that performs
as an air cleansing agent to remove gases and VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds)
from an enclosed environment.
It is composed
of organic material that has been 'carbonized' (burned) to a point where
no fuel exists and as such is in a porous state for capturing and retaining
contaminants in the air.
The base ingredient
can be virgin or re-cycled: coconut shell, coal, wood or other exotic
materials. We provide only VIRGIN COCONUT carbon because it is superior
in pore structure, retention capabilities and purity. The micro-pore
structure of this carbon is effective in capturing a broad range of molecular
contaminants that vary in structure, diameter and weight.

HOW
LONG DOES A CARBON FILTER LAST?
This depends on the amount
of contaminant in your indoor environment. Our carbon is capable
of retaining contaminant of up to 40% of its own weight. For example:
a 30 pound carbon filter can collect up to 12 pounds of contaminant before
needing replacement. That time frame could range from a few months
to many months.

HOW
DIFFICULT IS IT TO CHANGE CARBON FILTERS?
Most of our units
have tool-free filter replacement. Our RAP series home/office units
require a small screw driver. You can either replace the existing filter
or simply re-fill it.

WILL
YOUR EQUIPMENT GET RID OF FOUL ODORS THAT EMANATE FROM STORED EVIDENCE?
Our carbon filter
equipment is extremely effective at controlling the full spectrum of evidence
room odors, including narcotics, chemicals used in the manufacturing of illegal
substances, soiled clothing, and so on.

DOES
YOUR EQUIPMENT GET RID OF MOLD?
Our 1 micron particulate
filters and true HEPA filters are designed to capture all varieties of
mold spores. Our 1 micron filter will capture most mold spores.
In severe environments, we recommend our true HEPA filter which captures
99.97% of particulate at .3 micron and larger.
